BIG BROTHER

My little eyes are watching

All you say and do

And when I grow up big and tall
I want to be like you.

My little ears are listening

To everything you say

I am learning how to grow up

To be like you someday.

So be careful how you teach me

To be the person that you are.

You’re a knight in shining armor

You’re my brightest shining star.
TO MY BIG BROTHER

What a beautiful, beautiful poem. I miss my big brother as well. He was truly someone to look up to in all ways, and even when dying sought to take care of his little sister. Hope you can find comfort and peace in your memories of your brother and the certain knowledge that he's forever happy and well-taken-care of now.

This is not my work, or my words, but ones that have brought me comfort for many years. Perhaps it may for you, too. My father died when he was 53 of cancer, but had lived life, where as your brother was not given much time. It makes a difference to lose someone so young when life was not fulfilled. But I hope it brings you some pause and a smile..

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am gentle autumn rain.
I am the diamond glints of snow.
I am the sunshine on ripened grain.
When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starshine of night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.

Often when thinking of this things, my dad comes rushing into my thoughts. I no longer cry, but smile warmly knowing he is with me still, in all those things.
in fond regard, Tilda

What a beautiful tribute to your brother. Thanks so much for posting on my blog about my sister. I had to run over here and read this. I know you think of him every single day.
I was told that when we lose someone we love so much that they are a star shining down on us, showing us the way.
I am sure your brother is shining down on you.
God Bless you.
